Antique Edwardian wings brooch featuring a large round tourmaline and tiny seed pearls. The brooch is set in 15ct yellow gold.
It is most likely the Tourmaline was a later addition to this piece, although we may never know. It is a stunning deep blue colour.
TOURMALINES
Discovered by a Spanish conquistador in the 1500s, a beautiful bright green tourmaline was mistaken for an Emerald. It wasn't until the 1800s this beautiful family of stones were identified. Tourmalines come in a stunning array of colours. These beautiful stones are the birthstone of October and the eighth wedding anniversary.
