Iron, 18K & 22K yellow gold, opal
Master maker, Pat Flynn has created a signature piece in iron and gold with a single fiery opal at it's center. In the shape of a marque, he skillfully entices our gaze at its seemingly folded center. With striking form, the way the maker constructed this brooch dazzles one's sight as one notices that the luminous opal lives betwixt its cornered edge ever so seamlessly. The stone, cradled in high karat gold, is nicely contrasted to the deep body of iron, which again, with dynamic ingenuity is coaxed to Flynn's artful intention. Gracefully positioned on the outer perimeter of the piece are corners graciously endowed in gold, eloquently balancing his overarching work. With extraordinary skill and careful design, Flynn astounds the mind with intoxicating interest, expanding to his array of material and technique to create a monumental work of art.
